Cava Duran is the personal project of Ramon Canals, third generation of winemakers in Canals family (of classic Caves Canals Canals). He has introduced a new modern style producing only high quality Gran Reserva sparkling wines using the traditional method in the Penedès region. All Duran products age for at least 30 months with the yeast, use modern blends (not just the traditional Xarel·lo, Macabeu and Parellada) and shows the vintage and the disgorging date on the labels. This Duran Gran Reserva Brut 2007 includes an important part of Chardonnay in the blend. It is complex as well as fresh and presents fine and persistent bubbles. It is highly recommended for oysters and shellfish.

Vintage tasted: 2007 (October 2012)
